What are memecoins?
A memecoin is a permissionless token with a joke and a curve. Most never graduate. Solana uses Pump.fun. Robinhood Chain uses Pons.
A memecoin is a permissionless token with a ticker, an image, and a crowd. There is no product. The “trenches” are the first hours: bonding curve, Telegram, a DexScreener pair if one exists. Most coins never graduate. The ones that do still usually go to zero.
The machine
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Launch | Someone deploys on a pad. Name, ticker, image. Tax is set now or never. |
| Curve | Buys push price up a bonding curve. Sells push it down. No order book. |
| Graduate | Hit the pad’s threshold → liquidity moves to a real AMM. |
| Trade | Jupiter / PumpSwap / Raydium on Solana. Uniswap v4 on Robinhood Chain. |
Where they launch
- Solana: Pump.fun is the default. LetsBonk, Bags.fm, Raydium LaunchLab take the rest. How to launch a Solana token.
- Robinhood Chain (4663): Pons — curve, then Uniswap v4. How to launch a Robinhood Chain token.

What “good” looks like on a 10-minute clock
- A pair you can enter and leave without dying on slippage.
- Mint / freeze authority revoked or clearly disclosed. See how to spot a rug.
- Wallets that are not one cluster. Research tools.
- A chart on DexScreener when the pair exists — not a trending promise.
If you launched one
A pad is not a rank. Graduation is not DexScreener verification. How to promote a new token — bid more than #1 on DEX Ranks if you want the board.
